About Us

Rodney Clark opened Clark Photography in a small back room of his brother's Jewelry Store in Waynesboro, PA in March of 1977. His career in photography started in 1973 as a yearbook photographer while a sophomore at Smithsburg High School. After graduating from High School he continued to work as an Advertising Photographer for a local publishing company and in 1980 went into photography full time. In 1982 Rodney took over the entire space that was once his brother's Jewelry Store and turned it into a full service Portrait Studio specializing in Commercial, Wedding & Portrait Photography. In 1986, Rodney & Vickie Clark purchased the 175 year old Federal Style building that housed the business in downtown Waynesboro.

As the business grew, Rodney was noticing that more and more of his photography was being done outdoors, so the decision was made and in 1996 the Clarks purchased a stone colonial manor on the outskirts of Waynesboro. This new location gave Rodney and Vickie the opportunity to create one of the area's Premier Portrait Studios. Many of their outdoor portrait locations are one-of-a-kind, ranging from a Victorian gazebo, beautiful gardens, unique outbuildings, antique street lights, many different types of fences & swings, a real mountain stream and so much more. Inside you will find a state-of-art studio with both modern and traditional backgrounds to accommodate most any style of photography.

Clark Photography is also one of the first in the area to make the change to Digital Photography. This change gives us the ability to do more styles of photography from one source. We can give you Color, Black & White, Sepia Tone, Hand Tinted, Black & White Infrared all from the same image. Digital Photography gives us more creativity to make that Senior Portrait, Children's Portrait, Family Portrait or Wedding that much more special.

Honors & Accolades

Rodney Clark has received many Honors and Awards from both the Maryland and Pennsylvania Professional Photographer's Associations, the Professional Photographers of America and Wedding & Portrait Photographers International over the last 35 years.

The following are just some of those many Honors and Awards:
1993 had a Portrait accepted into the Professional Photographer's of America's "National Loan Collection".
1994 received the Prestigious Kodak "Gallery Award" from the Maryland Professional Photographer's Association.
1994 1st Runner up for "Commercial Photographer of the Year" from the Maryland Prof. Photographers. Association.
1994 1st Runner up for "Creative Photographer of the Year" from the Maryland Prof. Photographers Association.
1994 received the Fuji "Masterpiece Award", from the Professional Photographer's Association of Pennsylvania.
1996 received the Maryland Professional Photographers Association’s “Fellow of Photography” Degree.
1996 received the “Harting Memorial Award” for the “Most Creative Photograph of the Year” from MPPA.
1998 received the “Service Degree” from the Professional Photographers’ Association of Pennsylvania.
1999 received “Judge’s Choice Award” for one of his Children’s Portraits from Professional Photog. Assoc. of PA.
2000 received the “Pennsylvania Degree” from the Professional Photographers' Association of Pennsylvania.
Had the distinct honor of serving as President of the Professional Photographers' Association of Pennsylvania in 2000.
2002 received the "Pennsylvania CPP Degree" from the Professional Photographers' Association of Pennsylvania.
Received the "President's Award" for Outstanding Service from the Professional Photographers' Assoc. of Pennsylvania in 2003 & 2005.
2004 received the "Photographic Craftsman Degree" from the Professional Photographers of America.
Has won the “Presidents Trophy” Six times from the Professional Photographers' Association of Pennsylvania.
2006 received the "Best Wedding Album 2006" from the PPA of PA.
2006 received the Kodak "Gallery Award" for the Best Wedding Album for 2006.
2007 Presented with the Professional Photographers of America's highest honor for Meritorious Service. The "National Award".
2009 received the "Best Commercial Image" Trophy from PPA of PA.
2009 received "Judge's Choice Award" for one of his Illustrative Images from PPA of PA.
2009 received the "320 Club of Excellance Award" from PPA of PA for hanging 4 Blue Ribbon Prints at the Annual Convention.
2010 received the "Master of Photography Degree" from the Professional Photographers of America.
2010 received (Two) "Fuji Masterpiece Awards" from the Professional Photographers' Association of Pennsylvania for Illustrative Photography.
2011 received the "Kodak Metallic Gallery Award" from the Professional Photographers' Association of Pennsylvania for his print titled: "The Coffee House".

Directions

From the Chambersburg area take either Rt 316 South or Rt 997 South to Waynesboro. Turn left onto Main Street (Rt 16 East) you will go through town. You will come upon the Waynesboro Hospital on the left and Kmart on the right. At the end of the Kmart parking lot as you are heading East on Main Street there is a street on the left. This street is N. East Ave. Turn left onto it. N. East Avenue turns into Country Club Road. At the Stop Sign bare to the right and keep on going, we will be on the left side of Country Club Road just past Terra Cotta Drive. The Studio is about 1-1/2 miles from Main St. The Studio address is 11737 Country Club Road.

From the Mercersburg and Greencastle area take Rt 16 East to Waynesboro. Rt 16 is Main Street in Waynesboro and you will want to drive through town. You will come upon the Waynesboro Hospital on the left and Kmart on the right. At the end of the Kmart parking lot as you are heading East on Main Street there is a street on the left. This street is N. East Ave. Turn left onto it. N. East Avenue turns into Country Club Road. At the Stop Sign bare to the right and keep on going, we will be on the left side of Country Club Road just past Terra Cotta Drive. The Studio is about 1-1/2 miles from Main St. The Studio address is 11737 Country Club Road.

From Hagerstown take the Lietersburg Pike north to Waynesboro. At the second light turn right onto Main Street (Rt 16 East) you will go through town. You will come upon the Waynesboro Hospital on the left and Kmart on the right. At the end of the Kmart parking lot as you are heading East on Main Street there is a street on the left. This street is N. East Ave. Turn left onto it. N. East Avenue turns into Country Club Road. At the Stop Sign bare to the right and keep on going, we will be on the left side of Country Club Road just past Terra Cotta Drive. From the Gettysburg, Fairfield and Emmittsburg, Maryland areas, take Rt 16 West to Waynesboro. As you come into Waynesboro the YMCA will be on the left. This light is at 2nd & Main Street. The very next street will be N. East Avenue, you will want to turn right onto it. N. East Avenue will then turn into Country Club Road. At the Stop Sign bare to the right and keep on going, we will be on the left side of Country Club Road just past Terra Cotta Drive. The Studio is about 1-1/2 miles from Main St. The Studio address is 11737 Country Club Road.
